NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW Conference Call Notes 12-3-20

Pharmacist / Manager Conference Call
December 3, 2020 – 8:30 am

PLUS ONE MOMENTS

MOULTRIE – Jessica:  We’ve recently had several patients miss our delivery time cut off. Jessica recently made a special delivery to two patients after hours.

ADEL – Henry:  Over the Thanksgiving Holiday, one of our patient’s had a bad house fire and lost all their medications. We were able to quickly replace their maintenance medications and called the doctor to get a new script for other medication that was lost in the fire.

VALDOSTA – Wendy:  A patient needed a medication and their pharmacy was out.  This was a product that was on backorder, so Wendy called the doctor and got the medication changed to what was in stock.  The patient was extremely happy and called later to talk to the “manager” to express her thanks.

MED D –Deadline for Med D open enrollment is Monday.  We are currently concentrating on patients who have the most medications filled with us. These are patients who will be most affected with insurance changes.  Remember to look for patients who need assistance with Med D changeover and refer them to Renee and Melodie!

CHANCY DRUGS APP -  Remind your team about the App Contest!  Be creative about encouraging your patients to download our app.  Moultrie is using their patient calendars as a way to increase their numbers -  get a calendar, download the app.  In order to win a prize you must have at least 250 downloads.  Check the Chancy Employee page for regular updates.  Currently Adel has 21; Hahira 26; Lake Park 20; Moultrie 10; and Valdosta 42.  Make sure all your team members have download the app so they can understand how it works.

INVENTORY -  Everyone has set their end of year inventory dates.  We are in the process of working with Pioneer to get the best and easiest way to complete your inventory.  Lake Park will be the team working with Pioneer.  The procedure will be sent to each store once it is set.  At the first of the month you were requested to send all your returns back to McKesson.  Please make sure this has happened.

INVENTORY COLOR CODED SYSTEM - To make the return process easier in the future, we will go back to the color coded system.  This is where the labels are marked with a certain color each month so that you will know when to pull full bottles from the shelf.  You will receive your new process today.

CHRISTMAS FAMILY -  Every year each location chooses Christmas family.  This is a way that each team member can share with our community.  Encourage your team to participate.  Your FIS may know of several families that are possible to sponsor.  Please use $50 from your petty cash to help with your gift.  In the past years each team has provided a meal for their family as well as something personal for them.

NCPA / MED D -  Hugh plays an important role in NCPA and this past week has been jammed packed with back to back phone calls and Zoom meetings about MED D.  Hugh is working on behalf of Independent Pharmacies and their ability to provide the best possible care for all patients.  Thank you Hugh!

Our next conference call will be Thursday, December 10 at 8:30 am.
