Hugh Chancy Named Chair of National Community Pharmacy Association

HAHIRA, GA; NOVEMBER 21, 2020--Local pharmacist Hugh Chancy of Hahira was recently appointed Chairman of The Board of Directors for the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), a professional, non-profit organization that represents 22,000 community pharmacies nationwide. Chancy will serve a one-year term as Chairman, for the organization that advocates public policy on a state and national level, for issues affecting patients and independent pharmacies across the country.

 

Chancy is a practicing pharmacist who also serves as co-owner of Chancy Drugs, a family-owned and locally operated independent pharmacy business for over 53 years headquartered in Hahira, with six community pharmacies located throughout South Georgia.

 

Chancy also currently serves on the boards of the Academy of Independent Pharmacies and Prescribe Wellness and is a past president of the Georgia Pharmacy Association. He has served as a member of NCPA since 2000 and is active in both state and national legislation committees.

 

At the conclusion of his term as Chairman, Chancy will assume responsibilities as President Elect.
