NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW: Conference Call Meeting Notes

Pharmacist / Manager Conference Call
October 8, 2020 – 8:30 am

PLUS ONE MOMENTS
ADEL – Henry:  A couple came in for their flu shot so Henry checked GRITS to see if they needed additional shots.  The woman was pleased that Henry would think about their other vaccine needs.  She then told Henry that the previous year he saved her life.  She came into the store and complained of some issues she was having, Henry checked her profile to see her medications and any issues that could be happening, then recommended that she go to the emergency room. The emergency room doctor told her to thank her pharmacist as he had probably saved her life.

MOULTRIE – Vicki:  A patient came in with a script for testosterone that showed a copay of $500. Vicki talked with Chris and he was able to compound one that cost less than $100.

EMPLOYEE MOMENTS
We have two new employees who started this week.  Dana Barton is training in stores and will be in the Solution Center.  We also have Madelyn Lawrence who is training as a part time FIS.  Please welcome them to the team.

COVID / CLEANING / MASKS
Every store should continue to be vigilant with their COVID cleaning schedule, and every employee needs to ensure they are  wearing their masks as they should. We care about you! Hold your team members (your family) accountable to the protocols that were put in place at the beginning of COVID.

FLU SHOTS
So far we have given 390 shots across the company (our goal is 1,690 this flu season). We received a large shipment yesterday of the Quadrivalent which will be shared throughout the company and some will be used for Langdale patients. Inventory is tracked three times a week, but if you feel you are running low, please contact Patrick.  We are hoping to receive a shipment of Fluzone HD in the next couple of weeks.

McKesson has a few boxes of Fluzone HD that they are making available for purchase.  Please check the McKesson site several times a day to see if they drop a box for you, and order.

If a Langdale patient comes in for a flu shot, have them fill out a consent form, give a shot, but do not bill to their insurance.  We are compiling all Langdale patients into one invoice that will be paid at the end of the season.

Remember to look at GRITS to see if your patient has already received a flu shot, check also to see if the patient needs pneumonia or Shingrix vaccines.  Be proactive in every single one of our patients' care.

MED PART D – Begins Oct 15th
Keep a list of all patients who have asked questions or have shown concern about their Med Part D choices.  We will have someone on staff to call these patients to help them with their choices. There are a lot of changes going on that will affect our patients so we want to give them peace of mind when it comes to choosing the right plan.  We also need to know if the patient is choosing their first plan for 2020 or if they are using the Open Enrollment for their 2021 plan.

PHARMACY WEEK
Pharmacy week begins October 19.  On your Chancy Drugs Employee Home page is a list of events for the week. We’re looking forward to a fun week and hope you send in a LOT of pictures.

LTC PACKS
Make sure your RM Champion reviews these bags daily.  Phone calls need to be made to the patient.  If you have any questions, please call LTC.

Our next conference call will be Thursday, October 15 at 8:30 am.
