Pharmacist / Manager Conference Call
October 1, 2020
PLUS ONE MOMENTS
ADEL – Howard: We have been speaking with our AirMed patients about Narcan. One woman said that she had some at the house, then realized that it was expired. Another patient said he had been rushed to the emergency room with issues and didn’t realize they could get Narcan. Howard sent the medication to both patients.
VALDOSTA – Amanda: We have a patient who lost their medication in a house fire, including expensive inhalers. Amanda spoke with the insurance company and was able to get her scripts refilled under the emergency plan.
EMPLOYEE MOMENTS
Gus will be out of town the next two days, if you have any issues please contact Corey. Today celebrates the 5 year anniversary of Chancy Drugs Moultrie being with us. We also celebrate Patrick being on the team for 2 years!
PIONEER ISSUES
We have been dealing with missing NPI numbers in Pioneer. We are working to correct this. In the mean time continue to add NPI numbers as you come across the missing ones.
FLU SHOTS
We have given 257 so far in September; this is 133 more than we gave at this time last year. Kristen emailed a detailed immunization process that each of you needs to review with your team. You can also find that process here. Patrick and Kristen will be attending L-10 meeting to review this process and answer any questions.
- We do not have any HD coming into the stores at this time. If patients are asking for this, please get their names, and we will let you know when more are coming in.
- Flu shot numbers are being collected Monday, Wednesday, and Friday each week, and Patrick will do your flu shot order. We have a secondary source that we ordered from and these vaccines should be in soon.
- Part B immunizations – please make sure that your patient puts down a physical address, not a PO Box. Send the paperwork though to the Management office as usual and the Solution Center will do the billing. Remember to scan in the RWB card as well as sending a hard copy with your paperwork.
- The GRITS integration with Pioneer will not happen this flu season. Please continue to monitor GRITS to see if your patients over 65 years old have received their Pneumonia or Shingles shot. Also speak with the patient to see if they may have gotten that vaccine in the doctor’s office.
**Please review the email that was sent to you by Kristen. This will help answer a lot of your questions.
AUDITS
Jeff: An email with audit tips will be sent to you today. Please share this information with your team.
FLU SEASON AND TEAM MEMBERS
Now is the time that everyone comes down with the sniffles, sinus issues and respiratory issues. Pharmacists, make sure your team members are taking the right medication to help relieve their symptoms.
READYMED
Now that we’ve had several weeks to learn Pioneer, it is time to refocus on Ready Med. We have been taking good care of our patients, but now is the time to shine. Continue to communicate with your team at the Solution Center when things are exactly right. The sync notes are located in the patient profile tab, so make sure you read the notes and add additional ones that will help us take care of our patients. Over communicate!
PIONEER APPRECIATION
We meet with Dale from Pioneer last night and he was very complimentary of the whole Chancy Drugs team. He said that our positive attitude was very refreshing. We are well ahead of the curve with our transition.
Our next conference call will be Thursday, October 8 at 8:30 am.
